Managed IT

Every device known, patched and protected.

Zero touch provisioning, patching, configuration, encryption and lifecycle management for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux.

Sound familiar

Where this usually starts.

Devices are where users meet IT and where most attacks begin. We enroll every laptop, desktop and mobile into management, apply a security baseline, keep operating systems and applications patched on a schedule, and handle each device from purchase to secure disposal. New starters receive a device that configures itself; a leaver's device is wiped and recovered.

Tick the ones that sound like your situation.

Scope

What is included.

  • Enrollment and inventory

Every device enrolled and tracked: owner, model, warranty and state.

  • Zero touch provisioning

Devices ship to users and configure themselves on first sign in.

  • Patch management

Operating system and application updates in rings, with reporting.

  • Security baseline

Encryption, firewall, screen lock and hardening policies enforced.

  • Mobile management

Company and personal mobiles, with work data kept separate.

  • Lifecycle

Refresh planning, repairs, recovery and secure disposal.

Reference architecture

IT that is watched, fixed and reported on before it is noticed.

Endpoint management covers the laptops and phones your people carry and the management platform behind them. It is how the service desk fixes devices remotely and how security policy reaches every machine.

What this service delivers here

  • Laptops and phones

Every device, enrolled, encrypted and kept current.

  • Endpoint management

Policies, patches and apps pushed to every device, remotely.

Walk through every flow in Managed IT

Before you start

Decisions to settle early.

  • Company devices or personal ones

Company devices can be fully managed; personal ones need a lighter approach that protects work data without controlling the phone. Most organizations support both.

  • One platform or several

Managing Windows, Macs and mobiles in one tool simplifies reporting; specialist tools manage some platforms better. We recommend per estate.

  • How fast to patch

Faster patching reduces exposure but raises the chance of disruption. Rings and deadlines balance the two.

Approach

How the work runs.

  1. Discover

Every device and its current state

  2. Baseline

    Policies, encryption and configuration

  3. Automate

    Provisioning and patching in rings

  4. Report

    Compliance and lifecycle tracked

Commercials

How it is bought.

  • A fixed-fee assessment

We inventory the devices that touch company data, check their encryption, patch state and configuration, and review how new machines are set up. You receive a compliance picture and a fixed price for remediation.

  • A fixed-price build

Enrollment, security baselines, zero touch provisioning and patch rings for the platforms in scope, delivered at a fixed price with every policy documented.

  • Running it afterwards

Devices are then managed monthly: patching, compliance reporting, joiners and leavers, repairs and secure disposal, against an agreed service level.

Start with the assessment.

Scope an assessment

Worked example

A lost laptop and no answer.

Say an employee of a healthcare charity leaves a laptop on a train. The charity cannot confirm the disk was encrypted, because devices were set up by hand and there is no central inventory.

  1. Discover

We find every device that touches company data, including the personal phones used for email, and record its owner and state.

  2. Baseline

Encryption, screen lock and firewall settings are enforced through management, and a device that does not comply loses access to company data until it does.

  3. Automate

New laptops ship straight to staff and configure themselves at first sign in, and patches roll out in rings, starting with IT.

  4. Report

A compliance report shows the state of each device, and a lost or stolen one can be locked and wiped remotely.

At the end, the next lost laptop is a known event: the charity can show it was encrypted, lock it remotely and remove its access straight away.

Where it goes wrong

What we design out.

  • Enrollment without enforcement

A device in management with no baseline is only inventoried. Compliance is enforced, and non-compliant devices lose access to company data.

  • Patching everything at once

A bad update pushed to every machine stops the business. Updates move through rings, starting with IT, so problems are caught early.

  • Personal phones left out

Email on unmanaged phones is company data outside your control. Work data on personal devices is kept in a managed space that can be wiped alone.

Outcomes

What it changes.

  • Patched on schedule

Updates reach every device within the agreed window, with exceptions reported rather than missed.

  • Faster onboarding

New starters are productive on their first day without IT touching the device.

  • A lost device is not a breach

Encryption and remote wipe turn a lost laptop into an inventory event.

How you will know it is working

  • You can list every device that holds company data, with its owner.
  • A lost laptop can be shown to have been encrypted.
  • New starters receive a working device without IT touching it.
  • Patch compliance is reported, not assumed.

You keep

What you have at the end.

Handover pack

five items

  1. Device inventory and compliance report Every device with its owner, model, warranty and compliance state, and the ones that fall short.
  2. Security baseline documentation The encryption, firewall, screen lock and hardening settings enforced on each platform, and why each is there.
  3. Provisioning profiles and runbooks The configuration a new device receives at first sign in, and the procedure for each platform.
  4. Patch schedule and ring definitions Which devices receive updates first, how long each ring waits, and how a bad update is held back.
  5. Lifecycle and refresh plan When devices are due for replacement, what a refresh costs, and how retired devices are wiped and recovered.

The team

Who you work with.

  • Endpoint architect

Designs the baselines, enrollment and patch rings for each platform.

  • Endpoint engineers

Enroll devices, build provisioning profiles and handle compliance issues.

  • Service desk

Supports users through enrollment and fixes device issues day to day.

What we need from you

  • Administrative access to your identity and device management platforms.
  • A list of devices you know about, even if incomplete.
  • Your purchasing and supplier details for new devices.
  • Decisions on personal device use from someone able to make them.

Less firefighting for your own team, because the routine work is already done.

Questions

Questions we get asked.

Do you support Macs as well as Windows?

Yes, and Linux, iOS and Android. Each platform is managed with the tools designed for it: Intune and Autopilot for Windows, Jamf or Intune with Apple Business Manager for Apple devices.

Can staff use their personal phones?

Yes, with work data in a managed container that can be wiped without touching anything personal.

How do you patch without disrupting users?

In rings: a pilot group first, then everyone else after a defined interval, with maintenance windows and deferral limits agreed with you.

Can you source devices for us?

We specify standard models and configurations and work with the supplier you prefer, so devices arrive ready for zero touch enrollment.

What does zero touch provisioning mean for a new starter?

The laptop ships from the supplier directly to the new starter, still sealed. When they sign in with their work account, it enrolls in management, applies the security baseline and installs the applications their role needs, without IT handling the device.

What happens to a leaver's device?

Access ends when the account is disabled, the device is locked or wiped remotely, and its return is arranged. A returned device is either reset and reissued or retired with a record of how its data was removed.

How do you handle devices that fall out of compliance?

Conditional access checks a device's compliance before it can reach company data. A device that falls behind on updates or has encryption switched off is blocked from sensitive applications, its user is told why and how to fix it, and IT is alerted.

Can you manage devices for staff in several countries?

Yes. Management, patching and security policy are delivered over the internet, so location matters little. Purchasing, delivery and repairs in each country go through suppliers there, and local requirements, such as keyboard layouts or privacy rules on personal devices, are built into the profiles.
