# Technology Advisory

Cloud and AI strategy, technical due diligence, and architecture decisions with a defensible paper trail.

Advisory from the people who also build.

Strategy written by people who never operate systems reads that way. Our advisory work comes from the same senior engineers who deliver: technology roadmaps, build-versus-buy decisions, vendor evaluation, and technical due diligence for acquisitions and investments.

What a useful advisory engagement leaves behind. Advice earns its value when leaders can trace a recommendation to the evidence, constraints, risks, and decisions that informed it.

A decision frame, not generic options. We compare choices against the commercial, operational, security, and team constraints that matter to your organization.

A written record for scrutiny. Findings, assumptions, risks, and recommendations are documented so boards, investors, and delivery teams can examine the rationale.

A path from recommendation to action. The work ends with an ordered plan, practical next decisions, and clarity on whether Expandware should be involved in execution.

What we deliver:
- Cloud and AI adoption strategy and roadmaps.
- Technical due diligence for acquisitions and investments.
- Architecture reviews of existing systems.
- Vendor evaluation and build-versus-buy analysis.
- Written findings a board can act on.

How an engagement runs: Examine, Architecture, delivery, and operational risk. Compare, Options against your real constraints. Record, Evidence, assumptions, and dissent. The result: A decision that survives scrutiny, Traceable reasoning a board or an investor can examine. Often the recommendation is a smaller program.

How engagements run. It starts with a paid assessment: Anything carrying real technical risk begins with a fixed-fee technical assessment, one to three days, producing a written findings document and a scoped fixed price for the build. Fixed price for defined scope: Once the scope is known from your systems rather than from a conversation, the build is priced as a fixed figure, with the assumptions it depends on written down alongside it. Monthly retainer for operations: Ongoing operational ownership runs on a monthly retainer against an agreed service level, so the cost of running a system is a number you can plan against. No hourly meters running against unknowns.

Common questions:

Q: Can you provide technical due diligence for an acquisition or investment?
A: Yes. We evaluate the architecture, delivery capability, security and operational risks, and the assumptions that materially affect the technology case.

Q: Will you recommend a vendor you do not implement?
A: Yes. Recommendations are made on the evidence and the client's constraints. Where implementation is outside our scope, the findings remain useful to the delivery partner you choose.

Q: How is this different from hiring a large consultancy?
A: The person writing the recommendation is an engineer who has operated systems like yours, and they are the same person you speak to. There is no research team producing findings that the senior name presents.

Q: What do we actually receive?
A: A written document, structured so a board, an investor, and a delivery team can each use the parts relevant to them: findings with evidence, options with trade offs stated, risks, and an ordered plan. Not a slide deck.

Q: Can you review a decision we have already made?
A: Yes, and it is worth doing while there is still room to change course. A second read on an architecture choice or a vendor selection costs far less than the migration that follows a wrong one.

Q: Will you tell us not to do something?
A: Regularly. The most useful advisory outcome is often a smaller program than the one that was planned, and we would rather say that than be paid for the larger one.
