# Managed IT

Service desk, endpoint management, monitoring, backup and Microsoft 365, operated around the clock against a written service level.

IT that runs quietly, because someone is watching it.

Managed IT is judged on the days nothing happens. We take ownership of the estate your people depend on, from the laptop to the server room to the cloud tenant, and run it against service levels written down before the contract starts. Problems are answered by engineers rather than a ticket queue, and the preventive work between incidents is planned and reported, not left until the next failure.

Services:
- 24/7 service desk: Users helped by engineers around the clock, not a ticket queue.
- Device and endpoint management: Laptops, desktops and mobiles enrolled, patched and secured.
- Monitoring and network operations: Servers, networks and cloud watched around the clock by a NOC.
- Backup and disaster recovery: Backups that restore, and recovery that has been rehearsed.
- Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace: Tenants, mail, identity and collaboration configured and run.
- Virtual CIO: Senior IT leadership, roadmaps and budgets, without a full-time hire.

What changes:
- Answered by engineers. Requests reach people who can fix them, with named escalation to a senior engineer, so a password reset and a failed server are both handled at the right level.
- Prevention on a schedule. Patching, capacity, backups and licence hygiene run to a calendar you can see, which is what keeps incident numbers falling.
- Reporting that means something. Monthly reports show what was done, what is at risk and what it costs, in language a finance director can read.

Common questions:

Q: What does a managed IT service cover?
A: The scope is written down per client: users and devices, servers and networks, cloud tenants, backups and the service desk, with response targets for each severity. Anything outside it is quoted as a project rather than absorbed silently.

Q: How is managed IT priced?
A: Against a defined scope and service level, usually per user or per device for the desk and endpoints and per environment for infrastructure. We do not price by headcount, and we do not publish rates, because two estates of the same size rarely carry the same risk.

Q: Can you work alongside our internal IT team?
A: Yes, and it is a common arrangement. Co-managed services split responsibilities explicitly, for example out-of-hours monitoring and patching with us and user support with your team, so nothing falls between the two.

Q: How do you take over from our current provider?
A: With a transition plan: access, documentation and monitoring move in stages, the current provider is overlapped for a defined period, and the service level starts only once the estate has been assessed and its known risks are written down.
