Here is the standard we build to, how it is enforced, and how to tell us when we fall short. Effective 23 August 2026. Expandware is committed to making this website usable by everyone. Here is the standard we build to, how it is enforced, and how to tell us when we fall short. 1. Our commitment We sell engineering discipline, so it would be difficult to argue that accessibility is somebody else's concern. This site is built to be operated by keyboard, read by assistive technology, and legible to people with low vision or color vision deficiency. 2. Conformance status This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at Level AA, with normal text contrast targeted at the stricter AAA 7 to 1 ratio. Level AA is also the standard referenced by EN 301 549 in Europe, by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act in the United States, and by guidance under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and the Equality Act 2010 in the United Kingdom. We describe the site as partially conformant, which means most of the site meets the standard and the exceptions we know about are listed in section 4. We state this rather than claiming full conformance because full conformance has not been verified by an independent audit. 3. What we have actually done - Contrast is computed, not eyeballed: Every text and background pair in the design system is checked by a script that runs in the build pipeline and blocks a deploy if normal text falls below 7 to 1, or a non text control falls below 3 to 1. Two of our own brand colors cannot carry AAA text and are used only for non text elements as a result. - Keyboard operability: Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. A skip to content link is the first focusable element on every page. The navigation menus close on Escape and return focus to the control that opened them. - Structure: One h1 per page, heading levels that do not skip, semantic landmarks, and lists marked up as lists. Blog headings start at level two so the post title remains the only h1. - Images and graphics: Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text and decorative ones carry empty alternative text. Diagrams are live scalable graphics with text labels rather than pictures of text, and each carries a title and a description. - Forms: Every field has a real label, not a placeholder standing in for one. Errors are announced, describe what to do rather than only what is wrong, and are linked to the field they belong to. - Motion: Animation is limited to short entrance transitions, nothing loops or plays automatically, and everything is disabled for visitors who set a reduced motion preference. - Zoom and reflow: Text scales with browser settings and the layout reflows to 320 pixels without horizontal scrolling. 4. Known limitations - The anti automation check on the contact form is provided by Cloudflare. We chose the most accessible option available to us, but we do not control its internal markup. If it blocks you, email legal@expandware.com and we will respond the same way. - Content published through our blog is written by our team. A specific post may fall short of the standard the templates set. Report it and we will correct that post. - We have not commissioned an independent third party accessibility audit. Until we do, our conformance claim stays at partially conformant. 5. How we assess this Assessment is by self evaluation, combining automated checks that run on every build with manual keyboard testing. Automated tooling catches roughly a third of real accessibility problems, so we do not treat a passing scan as a passing site. 6. Tell us when we get it wrong If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to know. Write to legal@expandware.com with the subject line Accessibility, and tell us the page and what happened. We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days and to give you a fix or a timetable within 10 business days. If you need information from a page in a different format, ask and we will supply it. 7. If you are not satisfied We would rather resolve it directly.
